Here’s what a typical day in the studio looks like:

    • Arrival
    • Sound check
    • Rehearsal
    • Recording
    • Overdubs
    • Playback
    • Wrap

The process may take time depending on your projects’ specific needs, but the end result is a high-quality recording of your material.

The goal of audio editing is to improve the quality and overall sound of an audio recording, by removing any unwanted sounds, adjusting the levels and equalization, adding effects and processing, and organizing the audio into a coherent and cohesive sequence. In addition, it can can also involve tasks such as adjusting the timing and tempo of recordings, enhancing the dynamics and tonal balance to make the final product sound as good as possible and to achieve the desired artistic or technical objectives.

Mixing audio is the art of blending individual tracks into a harmonious, polished sound that enhances the emotional impact of the music. I take a collaborative approach to my work, listening closely to the vision of the stakeholders, and using my technical skills and artistic intuition to bring their ideas to life. Whether it’s an entire album, a single, or a full length, I approach every project with the same level of care and precision, to create a sound that truly captures the essence of the music.

Mixing is an iterative process that can involve multiple passes and fine-tuning to achieve the desired result. It is a technical and creative process that requires a deep understanding of audio processing and a good ear for sound.

Mastering audio is the final stage of the audio post-production process, and it involves preparing audio recordings for final delivery, such as for commercial release, broadcasting, or distribution. The goal of mastering audio is to improve the sound quality of a mix and ensure that it meets the technical and aesthetic standards of the intended delivery format. Mastering audio is the critical final step in the audio post-production process.

Multiple delivery formats available.

With my background in game audio and spatial engines, I have been able to seamlessly transition to supporting music mixes in Dolby Atmos for platforms such as Apple Music and Tidal.

Mixing music in spatial audio involves using various techniques to position and move audio elements within a 3D sound field, creating a more immersive listening experience for the audience. It allows for greater control over the placement of instruments and sounds, creating a more natural and dynamic soundstage.

Audio post-production is a crucial aspect of both video game and film production, as it involves refining and enhancing the sound recordings to create a seamless and impactful experience with a goal to enhance the emotional impact of the content. This requires a combination of technical skills and artistic intuition, as well as a collaborative approach to working with the artists, producers, and other stakeholders.
